Architecture School graduate student education of Chang’an university grasps "the unyielding and pragmatic, unity and the pursuing of excellence" spirit of grew up fine tradition, keeps track of architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture three level of the development of the forefront. By building an open, advocacy of comprehensive education concept, perfecting the integration mechanism of combination, gradually build the interactive curriculum system integrated with scientific research, teaching pattern combined theory and practice, and modern digital information technology to ensure the advanced teaching platform. Aiming to develop students to meet the need of socialist construction in China, possessing with solid theoretical knowledge of planning, and architecture design, and understanding of natural science and the humanities, Architecture School cultivates professional designers, management personnel, scientific researchers and university teachers with highly social responsibility and international field of vision.

As of September 2013, Architecture School of Chang’an University has more than 30 graduate tutors. Recruit the first master's since 2004, so far our school has output of about 320 people. Not only has broad influence and good social reputation, its high-quality professional talent output system plays a positive and important role especially in the sustainable development of the national social economy and the improvement of the living environment optimization in northwest region.

Ⅰ. Postgraduate Program for Architecture Major

1. General Description

With in-depth academic research on architecture and environment, the major of architecture aims to summarize architectural activity and experience of human beings, study rules and methods of architectural activities, and optimize living environment to satisfy people's needs. In a broad sense, the subject of architecture includes planning and design for building and building complex, indoor and outdoor environment, human settlement, cities, towns and villages, as well as landscape architecture, building technology and the research of architectural history and theory. With the development of society, the gathering of population and the acceleration of urban development process, urban planning and environmental problems are very prominent, but meanwhile, architecture study has been opened up an unprecedented broad space. Architecture design and theory mainly study the representative architecture concepts and their development context and correlation, research the general rules and methods of architecture design, and explore the future development direction of architecture design. Architecture major of Chang'an University was authorized to confer master's degree in 2005. There are more than 40 teachers in this major, including 9 teachers with senior professional titles. Each year, more than 20 masters are recruited. This discipline may confer a master of engineering degree.

1. General Description

Cities have become the main places of human settlement and the main carriers of social, economic, technological and cultural development. Urban planning and design is an applied discipline studying urban and regional development, urban built environment planning, design and management. The urban and rural planning major of Chang'an University was authorized to confer master's degree in 2004.There are more than 20 in-service teachers in this major, including 11 senior teachers, and about 30 master students are recruited every year. In recent years, urban planning and design teachers have undertaken a series of important research projects, including national natural science foundation of China, national social science research foundation of China and other important research projects, and published a large number of academic papers and monographs at home and abroad, and edited many professional textbooks. In the discipline construction of urban and rural planning of Chang'an University, the department of urban and rural planning is the core, coordinated with its own institute of urban planning and design to form a teaching-research-consulting complex, which provides a solid platform for the all-round cultivation of senior urban planning and design talents. 1. General Description

Landscape architecture is a multi-level interdisciplinary subject among the first-level disciplines of architecture, urban planning, environment, ecology, tourism and other disciplines. In the field of international scope of the urban and rural environment planning and design, landscape architecture not only is geared to the needs of urban and rural living environment, but also the entire national territory, the regional environmental and ecological protection, resources planning, environmental planning and design and other important areas.

In the construction of human settlement environment in the 21st century, especially for developing countries like China, the urgency of protecting, developing and improving the living environment will increase day by day, which is the basic goal and practical core of this major. Internationally, this major has become the major with the greatest job market potential in the field of architectural planning, and will also be the major in short supply in the field of architectural planning in China for quite a long time. At present, with the rapid development of urban and rural construction and environmental improvement in China, various urban construction planning and management departments, planning and design institutes, architecture design institutes, garden planning and design institutes, tourism planning and design institutes, as well as a large number of real estate companies are in urgent need of this professional talent. Its practice scope includes: classification, investigation, evaluation, protection and utilization of landscape architecture resources; planning and design of regional (land) landscape, green space system, scenic spots, forest parks, country parks, squares and streets; planning and design of different types of tourist destinations; environmental ecological protection, vegetation, soil and water improvement, restoration and improvement; the application of high and new technology, law of economic development, management system and legislation in related fields. This further confirms the importance of this major in improving the living environment, adapting to China's economic development and urban and rural construction needs, and implementing sustainable development strategies. Chang'an University was awarded the master's degree in landscape architecture in 2011.There are more than 20 teachers in this major, including 6 teachers with senior professional titles, and about 6-10 postgraduate students are recruited every year. Ⅳ. Postgraduate Program for Architecture and Civil Engineering Major

1. General Description

Engineering master's degree and academic master's degree are at the same level, but they have different characteristics from academic master's degree in recruiting objects, learning methods, knowledge structure and ability cultivation. The professional degree of master of engineering focuses on the application of engineering, which mainly trains applied and compound high-level engineering technology and engineering management talents.

2. Cultivation and Management

(1). The cultivation is part-time learning, but the total learning time at school is not less than 6 months or 500 class hours.

(2). The training shall be conducted in accordance with the master of engineering training program formulated by the school. Students who have completed the required credits can enter the paper work stage. The dissertation shall be conducted under the guidance of the supervisor, and the double-tutorial system shall be implemented. One experienced professor (or associate professor) or senior engineer shall be selected by the school and the enterprise as the tutor.

(3). The length of schooling is 2 years, which can be extended to 3 years if approved in special circumstances.

Students shall complete the required credits within the prescribed period of time and pass the dissertation defense organized by Chang'an University. After the examination and approval of the academic degree evaluation committee, they will be awarded the master of engineering degree of Chang'an University.

Ⅴ. Doctoral Program for Civil Engineering Discipline Urban and Rural Residential Environment Construction

1. General Description

The urban and rural residential environment construction project undertakes important work in urbanization, regional and regional development, urban and rural construction, urban and rural social service, form planning design, and management of construction of various engineering facilities. It is an important subject field of national economy and social development. Professional education in this field is an important guarantee for human resources and technologies supporting urban and rural construction. Therefore, the construction of urban and rural residential environment construction project as a second-level discipline is an important supporting work for the healthy development of China's residential environment space and the harmony between urban and rural areas. It is the integration of civil engineering, architecture, urban and rural planning, landscape architecture, and its research field is the comprehensive system of large capacity, multi-level and multi-discipline.

As an interdisciplinary subject, urban and rural residential environment construction project has a wide range of applications. It explores and studies human beings' space, place and field construction based on various survival activities. It is also a comprehensive science, technology and art to study the human-centered human settlement activities including villages, towns and cities and the biosphere centered on the living environment. Urban and rural human settlement environment construction project takes urban and rural social and economic development and human settlement environment as the research object, takes urban land use and material space planning as the discipline core, and takes cultivating technical and management talents suitable for urban and rural human settlement environment construction project as the goal. From the perspective of talent cultivation, it is more suitable to cultivate talents with urban and rural residential environment construction engineering related professional knowledge to meet the requirements of today's economic and social development for the cultivation of interdisciplinary talents.

For doctoral candidates who have completed the training plan in advance (no less than 2.5 years of registration in school) and whose dissertation meets the requirements of the oral defense, they may oral defense, graduate and apply for the degree in advance after the prescribed examination and approval procedures.
