On October 13, the forum "Research Methods and Technology Frontiers of Urban and Rural Planning" co-sponsored by School of Architecture, Chang 'an University and Xi 'an International Science and Technology Cooperation Base "Xi 'an Green Urban and Rural and Territorial Space Smart Construction Technology Innovation International Science and Technology Cooperation Base" was successfully concluded. Professor Miao Chunping, Department of Urban and Rural Planning, School of Architecture, Chang'an University, as the main academic convener, invited Professor Hashem Akbari from Concordia University of Canada, Professor Wang Yupeng, Vice Dean of the School of Human Settlements and Architectural Engineering, Xi 'an Jiaotong University, and Professor He Baojie from the School of Urban Planning, Chongqing University to attend the forum and make academic reports. Professor Hou Quanhua, Dean of School of Architecture, Chang'an University, and Professor Yu Kanhua, Vice dean of School of Architecture, attended the forum and made a welcoming speech.
The academic forum was presided over by Professor Miao Chunping, during which, Prof. Hashem Akbari gave a talk on "Meteorology and Air Quality Modeling of the Effects of Urban Heat Island Countermeasures". He elaborated on the background and mechanism, principles and methods, measures and cases of urban air pollution and heat island effect collaborative control. Professor Wang Yupeng gave an academic report entitled "Energy and environment coupled evaluation for sustainable urban development". With the rapid development of urbanization as the background, the relationship between urban zoning planning, energy and environment was explained, and the smart city planning case of energy and environment in urban blocks was presented. With "Urban Heat Mitigation, Adaptation, and Decision Support Tool" as the theme of the report, Professor He Baojie introduced the synergistic effect between urban heat island effect and heat wave, the monitoring, prediction and early warning of urban thermal environment, Thermal mitigation and adaptation system, decision tool principle and case studies.
