On the morning of June 1, 2022, initiated by Chang'an University, hosted by the School of Architecture, Southwest Jiaotong University, Chang'an University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Northwestern University, Kunming University of Science and Technology, Sichuan University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xinjiang University, Yunnan University, Xihua University, the final defense of the Western "9+1+1+2" Architecture Major Joint Graduation Design and Design Competition jointly participated by more than ten western architecture colleges and universities such as Lanzhou University of Technology and Lanzhou University of Technology was successfully held online.

The final defense was presided over by Professor Zhang Yingzi, Dean of the Department of Architecture, Southwest Jiaotong University. For this final defense, Professor Shen Zhongwei, Dean of the School of Architecture, Southwest Jiaotong University, and Professor Hou Quanhua, Dean of the School of Architecture, Chang'an University delivered speeches respectively. After that, 45 teams, including Chang'an University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Northwest University, Kunming University of Science and Technology, were divided into 8 sub-venues for group defense. 11 teams from the three majors of architecture, urban and rural planning, and landscape architecture in our school participated in the final defense.

After the fierce competition, and the evaluation of reviewers, the teachers and students of our school have won 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes, 2 excellence awards, and 2 best team awards. At the same time, the architecture major has also won 2 BIM positive design awards.

The site of this joint graduation project is located in Chengdu, Sichuan. This design focuses on the urgent needs of young people in big cities, and through the means of architecture, urban and rural planning and landscape design, to create a "green-friendly" living environment and solve the problems of young people's survival and development. Finally, Dean Liu Penteng of the School of Design and Art of Lanzhou University of Technology delivered a speech for the 2023 sponsor relay. So far, the final defense of this joint graduation design and design competition has ended successfully.
