The 2020 International Urban Design Student Assignment Competition, jointly organized by the World Urban Planning Education Network, the UNSCO-iCity Website, the iCity Knowledge Service System and the Guihua Magazine, has concluded. Nearly thousands of entries were received for the international competition, there are nearly 2500 students from dozens of colleges and universities both at home and abroad to participate in. This review lasted 3 months with the "technical review – the preliminary review – final review" three links, and selected 23 Best Awards (the highest award) and 215 Nomination Awards.
The School of Architecture students work closely around the "home of the future health" theme, with unique perspective to interpret the theme, the use of architecture and space language to solve urban problems, and skillfully combined with the "post-epidemic Era", puts forward new requirements to urban health, and through professional means to improve the quality of the urban space. Four works have won good grades: the work "2050er" Future Home - Urban Thinking on Future Healthy Home in the Post-epidemic Era (participating students: Wang Qin, Zhao Yuming, guide teachers: Wang Nong, Zhang Lei, Liu Ming) won the Best Award; Chang’an Flower Lane - Based on the Urban Pathological Phenomena in the Study of Xi’an Ming City Wall West Warehouse Area Update Planning (participating students: Guo Fang, Li Qingze, guide teachers: Guo Qiwei, Yu kanhua), Poetic Habitat - Based on Social Poetics of Xi'an Update Planning Design (participating students: Huang Xintong, Li Yahui, guide teacher: Jing Xiaopeng, Duan Yaqiong) and Folding City (participating students: Wu Yan, guide teacher: Guo Qiwei, Yu kanhua) won the Nomination Award.

For the outbreak this year after Urban and Rural Planning Professional Education Committee closed related competition, this international competition is organized by WUPEN and the UNSCO-iCity Website jointly organized. The Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Ministry of Urban and Rural Planning Professional Education, Vice President of Urban Planning Society of China, Wu Zhiqiang was chairman of the competition, Prof. Ye Jiaan of the University of Hong Kong and Prof. Otthein Herzog of The University of Bremen as judges of the competition. It is an important international award facing the whole world. The School of Architecture actively organizes the competition, and the students' works have achieved good results in many famous universities, which provides a strong support for the school in the first-class professional construction and discipline evaluation.
