On December 21, 2019, Professor Frank·Petzold from the Technical University of Munich, visited School of Architecture. The meeting was presided over by Liu Qibo, vice dean of the School of Architecture. Faculty and student representatives attended the meeting.
Professor Frank·Petzold first brought us a wonderful lecture: Construction 4.0 in Germany. Construction 4.0 is the engineering and construction version of German Industry 4.0, a development model for the construction industry towards digitalization and increased labor productivity. He explained three directions of Construction 4.0 from the academic and practical level: Building Information Modeling (BIM), Prefabrication, and 3D Printing. He pointed out that Construction 4.0 is an important model for future digitalization. He also shared some EU and German Science Foundation projects with us.
Then, Professor Frank·Petzold issued a certificate of completion to the students of the School of Architecture who participated in the Summer International Workshop at the Technical University of Munich, and discussed the further exchanges and cooperation between the two schools of architecture.
