Mr. He Xinghua’s Lecture
This lecture will pass on the cold thinking of the future urban heat, the future urban academic research path, the future city as the theoretical study of the history of thought, the future city as the empirical study of planning, the future city as the normative study of values, the direction of future urban research, etc. The six-part explanation discusses the theme of “Three Paths for Future Urban Research”. Mr. He Xinghua pointed out that the research on the future city can not only satisfy the collection of disciplines, but also needs to make breakthroughs in the research of complex adaptive systems, which makes the spatial method the key. From the perspectives of the history of urban planning, the development of architectural technology, and the ideal city, Mr. He Xinghua proposed that urban research in the future should not pursue an ideal urban model of ultimate significance. Mr. He Xinghua concluded from McKinsey's research report that the future city should have 14 characteristics that are capable of attracting the world's top talents, flexible and environmentally sustainable. In addition, Mr. He Xinghua also discussed the relationship between people and things in future urban research, and helped students understand the key points and misunderstandings in future urban research, which benefited the students.
This lecture gave students a more intuitive and deep understanding of the future development path and direction of the city, and deepened their understanding of the forward-looking development of the future city. And it will bring inspiration for the future research of China's future urban development model.
